It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing
of Wendy Louise (Crowe) Batycki on December 16, 2015 in her
home town, Canmore, Alberta, after a short courageous battle
with Cancer.
A loving mother, incredible sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother, friend,
and colleague, Wendy was a pillar of support for all friends and family in her life- long community. She will be remembered for her generosity, kind heart and zest for life.
Wendy was born in Canmore on September 28, 1948. Wendy met Vic in 1968 while she was studying to be an elementary school teacher. Upon graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education in 1973, she taught school in Calgary and Yellowknife for a few years and then started her family. As a mother she was second to none. While raising her children, Wendy loved to volunteer and was actively involved in Figure Skating and Minor Hockey. Wendy was not one to sit around and began her career in Real Estate in 1989. She will be remembered as a mentor and for her honesty, humor, and passion. Wendy was a long-time member of the Canmore Golf and Curling Club and loved to spend her time curling, golfing, traveling, and with her grandchildren. Her reach was wide and will never be forgotten.
She was predeceased by her father Cross Crowe, and her mother Thelma Crowe and is survived by her husband Vic, son Shawn (Tanya), daughter Krystal (Mike), grandchildren, Rylee, Jakob, Miles and Tora. Wendy is also survived by her sister Diana (Ernie) and their children Michael (Claire), Jamie and Jordan, Derek (Nancy), Dustin and Madison, her Cousin Jeannie and daughter Haley, Auntie Janet,
Uncle Johnny and their family.
A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, January 7, 2016
at St. Michael's Anglican Church, Canmore. A "Wendy" gathering followed at the Canmore Golf Course.
In remembrance of Wendy, friends are encouraged to make a donation, in her memory to Kidsport Alberta or to a charity of their choice.
