The Scott family regret to share the passing of Thomas Albert Scott,
82, at the Canmore General Hospital.
Tom fought a brave battle against lung cancer but thankfully
passed on April 16th holding the hand of his bride of 58 years, Katie.
He is survived by two sons, two daughters-in-law, one niece,
four granddaughters and two grandsons.
Tom was a "lifer" with Imperial Oil from whom he retired after
three decades of chemistry-related projects that led him around the world. Tom and Katie retired in Canmore 1992 and immediately adopted the mountain lifestyle and limitless fitness activities that attracted them to the Alberta Rockies. Enrolment with the "cagey" Canmore Curmudgeons was a local thrill – club secrets will live with him forever!
The Scott family was blessed to have Tom receive exceptional care from all members of the Canmore Hospital and Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre. These health care professionals provided Tom with sensitive, human touches and made his last several months as comfortable as possible.
Thanks to Tom's friends who offered best wishes and visited him
in hospital.
Ashes will be distributed this summer in the mountains he so loved.
