Teresa Warminski passed into God's care at the Canmore Hospital on Monday morning, November 5, 2012 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Alexander in 2003, Teresa is survived by two sons, Alexander J. (Helen) of Red Deer and Joey of Canmore; two daughters, Mary (Marvin) of Hanna, AB and Theresa (Gregg) of Calgary as well as three grandchildren, Alexander (the fourth), Taylor and Blair as well as three sisters in France.
Teresa was born in Poland and came as a young bride to Canada at the age of 17 years and in 1954 Alexander and Teresa moved to Canmore. Teresa worked for 30 years in Banff at the Brewster Mt. Royal Hotel. She was an avid gardener and was known for her flowers at home and at Sacred Heart church. All that knew her will miss her friendliness and compassion for others. In her younger years she was know to never have missed square dancing.
Vigil prayers were said at Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Our Lady of the Rockies Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canmore. A Mass of the Resurrection for Teresa was celebrated on Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Catholic Church in Canmore with interment following in the Canmore Cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her beloved Alexander.
Teresa struggled in later years with Parkinson disease and resided in the Golden Eagle View at the Canmore Hospital where she was well liked and well taken care of by the doctors, nurses and staff. Friends wishing to remember her may make donations to the Parkinson Society of Southern Alberta, 480 D - 36 Avenue SE, Calgary AB, T2G 1W4 or to the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation dedicated for use in Golden Eagle View, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore T1W 1N2.
