Sylvia Fitzgerald

Sylvia Fitzgerald, loving wife of Jim, passed away peacefully at the Canmore Hospital on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the age of 85.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jim Fitzgerald

and her children Dan (Paula) Fitzgerald and Nancy (Gary) Marshall.

Her four grandsons, Daniel Fitzgerald, Jonathan (Danielle) Fitzgerald, Andrew (Lisa) Marshall and Brian Marshall, as well as her sweet great-grandchildren – Charlie and Charlotte Fitzgerald and Vivian Marshall.

Sylvia is also survived by her sister Sheila (Pat) Grainger and brother John (Trish) Hubman.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Paul and Maizie Hubman, her precious daughter Janet Fitzgerald and her brother Ronnie Hubman.

Sylvia was born in Canmore where she happily spent her life taking care of her family and home. She was well known for her wonderful baking. You could always stop by for a cup of tea and a treat, as she always had something freshly baked. Her other passions were growing her beautiful flower gardens and having her little ones close by. She will be remembered by most in town as always walking hand in hand with her beloved Jim.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to her physician, Dr. John Michalyshyn, as well as all the nurses and staff at the Canmore Hospital and Golden Eagle View long-term care for their devotion and loving care of Sylvia while she was a resident there.

Funeral Mass was Celebrated Saturday, December 17 in

Our Lady of the Rockies Catholic Parish, Canmore.

A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends followed in

St. Michael's Anglican Church hall.

Flowers gratefully declined. Friends wishing to remember Sylvia are encouraged to make a donation, in her memory,

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place in the Spring 2017 in the Canmore Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her daughter Janet.
