Steven Renema

Steven, loving partner of Karella Friesen, passed away peacefully, as he had wished, in his home in Canmore following his two year battle with cancer.

Steven was born in Montreal and during his growing up years, travelled to and lived in Holland and Curacao. As an adult he loved to vacation in the tropics. After taking forestry in college, he made his way to the Bow Valley with friends and ended up staying. He changed careers and started driving motor coach buses in tourism.

Ten years ago he met the love of his life, Karella, who became his best friend. Together they spent many happy times together; vacations to Mexico, gardening and playing crib.

Steven will be sadly missed by many friends as well as Karella's family.

We are sad that he has left us but rejoice that he is no longer in pain and is dancing with Jesus in heaven.

Thanks to all the medical staff at the Canmore & Foothills hospitals, with a special thanks to all the home care nurses in Canmore for their compassionate care in the last few weeks.

Memorial service was held Saturday, November 23, 2013

at The Branch, 802 Bow Valley Trail.
