She later returned to nursing and worked at St-Joseph Hospital and Extendicare in Sudbury, ON. Mum moved to Alberta in 1980 and lived in Calgary and Banff before settling in Canmore.

Simonne loved the mountains and she spent the better part of her life there. She had a zest for life and loved spending time with her family, gardening, walking, biking and cross-country skiing. She was a

talented, self-taught artist and painted many mountain landscapes

as well as the local flora and fauna. She was also an accomplished cook and baker. We were always excited for Christmas and her tourtière – it was the best!!

The family owes a debt of gratitude to her youngest son Jacques, and his wife Lucille, who did so much to care for her in her last years and enabled her to have the best possible life in Canmore. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The family would also like to extend the biggest thank you to the staff of the Golden Eagle View Long Term Care, who provided such excellent care for Simonne in the time she spent there.

A Memorial Service for Simonne will be celebrated in Spring 2023

"Time cannot steal the treasures that we carry in our hearts nor ever dim the shining thoughts our cherished past imparts; for the memories of the ones we loved still cast a gentle glow, to grace our days and light our paths wherever we may go."
