Shirley Court

Shirley Ann Court (nee Hooper) passed away peacefully in Edmonton in the Cardiac Unit of the University Hospital.

Shirley was born in Ceylon, Sask. and was raised in Calgary. In 1952, she married Jim Court of Exshaw and has resided in Exshaw until her passing. Shirley spent many years active in the Exshaw community sports and activities and was a member of the Exshaw Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was employed by the Exshaw Credit Union for many years ad then with the Exshaw School until her retirement.

Since their retirement, Jim and Shirley spent much of their time at their cottage in Sicamous, BC. They enjoyed the beautiful weather, the lake, and the community. After Jim's passing, Shirley continued to spend much of her time in Sicamous where she will be remembered by many friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2005, her mother Anna Hooper in February 2011, her father, John Hooper in 1968,

her daughter-in-law Sherri in October 2011 and her brother-in-law

Barry Dolny in 2002.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Jim and Ron (Laurie) and daughter Cindy (Dale) Niles as well as her grandchildren Cara (Burton) Fischer, Christopher Court, Chad (Lacea) Court, Barb Niles, Kimberly Niles, Brandy (Tyler) Bartel and Kelsie (Tom) Brannagan and great-grandchildren Kennedy, James, Cameron, Dallas, Blake, Alivia, Megan, Leslie, Emma, Haley Ann and Rhys. Shirley is also survived by her sister Betty Lou Dolny, and brothers Butch (Marilyn) Hooper, Bud (Sandy) Hooper, Bill (Freddie) Hooper and Jackie Hooper, her godson Richard Craig as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family

and friends.

A Memorial Service was held in honour of both Shirley and Jim on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in St. Michael's Anglican Church hall in Canmore.
