In the afternoon of Friday, November 28, 2014, Sharon Marie Olmstead passed away on her 60th birthday, surrounded by her family in the Canmore Hospital following her personal 13 year battle with cancer.
Sharon loved Canmore and spent many hours outdoors tending to her plants & gardens. She especially enjoyed tending to her patch in the community garden where she could talk with others who shared her passion for gardening. A resident in the Bow Valley since 2002, her favourite pastimes were driving, exploring and photographing our beautiful patch of the Rockies. She also enjoyed her volunteer work with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Canmore Hospital. She was always trying to help people wherever she went, full to the brim with advice for anyone who asked.
Sharon is survived by her forever loving husband & daughter;
Al & Jennifer Olmstead; her mother & father, Del & Jack Bowers,
her sisters, her nieces & nephews. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
