Sharon Robinson Lemecha passed away surrounded by the love of her family in Canmore. Sharon was well known for her unwavering love, support and caring ways. Her ability to make everyone feel special was truly a gift. Her compassion and levels of empathy for those around her made it so easy for all to love her! Sharon will be missed by all that knew her.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years, Victor Lemecha

and her children Karen Greene (Steve) and Colin Lemecha and

her granddaughter, Victoria Greene. She will also be sorely missed

by her extended family Tom and Vivian Slater (Robert and Christopher and Michelle Slater), Mary Jean and Ron Enevold (Michelle Peters and Ryan Evevold), Herb and Sandy Poile (Tanya and Clayton Fifield and Greg and Laura Poile), Alan and Angie Poile, John and Elaine Poile,

Bill Hunter, Tara Roett (Paul, Kate and Kurtis) and Kirsten Zimola (Robert, Drew and Ben). She was predeceased by her father

and Lorraine Hunter.

Born in Calgary, Sharon grew up in the Sunnyside area, attending and being a member of the first graduating class of Queen Elizabeth High School. After graduation, Sharon attended the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1962. Her career in nursing took her to Kamloops, BC and Edmonton AB with her dear friends Bobbi Ross (Pendergast) and Lorraine Petersen (Hunter).

In 1963, in Edmonton, she met the love of her life Victor, and on September 18, 1965 they wed in Calgary, AB. In 1968 Karen was born and in 1971 Colin joined his big sister. With her family, Sharon lived in numerous cities and positively impacted many people around the world including Calgary, AB, Edmonton, AB, Saskatoon, SK, Vernon BC, Wabush, NFLD, Beijing, China, Grand Prairie TX, Cairo, Egypt, Honolulu, HI, Seattle, WA, Walnut Creek, CA, Gaithersburg, MD, Cherry Hill, NJ, Sandpoint, ID and Canmore, AB, making many long term and loyal friends along the way.

Sharon was very active throughout her life. She enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, golf and curling. She and her regular curling team members participated in many bonspiels across Western Canada, scoring an eight ender at one of the bonspiels. Sharon loved spending time in the mountains and after moving to Canmore in 2013, she became a member of the Billy Jo Aquacise group (affectionately known as the synchronized swimmers) and the Mountain Cabin Quilters Guild. Sharon spent countless hours volunteering on the Board of Directors of the Quilt Guild, piecing the raffle quilts and quilting numerous "Hugs Quilts" for cancer patients at the Canmore Hospital. Throughout her quilting career she also quilted hundreds of "Eye Spy Quilts'' for babies of relatives and family friends. Sharon's favorite times were when she was spending time with her granddaughter Victoria whether watching her dance or doing puzzles together at home.

We all are saddened with the passing of Sharon and will miss

her greatly; but we also are grateful to have known and spent

so many wonderful moments with such an inspirational, caring

and loving human being!
