Sally Ann Plunkett

After one last family weekend at the cabin, Sally Ann Plunkett passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.

Sally is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Sam Plunkett.

Sam and Sally were high school sweethearts and together, they built a life that was filled with happy adventures. Sally taught her children, Kirby (Marian) and Katie (Mike) that life was worth celebrating; even when faced with challenges, Sally always focused on the positive.

She adored her time with her family, especially her grandkids, Molly and Sammy, and was happiest when everyone was together. Sally also leaves her sister, Jill Bodkin, and niece, Alicyn.

Sally loved the long days of summer: swimming at the Banff Springs Hotel, driving her yellow MG convertible with the top down, and camping trips. She enjoyed going for walks and drives along Vermilion Lakes Road, looking for wildlife and watching the seasons change. In the 1980s, Sally introduced her young family to downhill skiing and for years, the "Plunkett's Norquay Condo" was always one of the first vehicles parked at the ski hill. The years spent skiing as a family were some of Sally's favourites. Another favourite of Sally's was going to the Oregon Coast, the family went almost every year. Sally also cherished her beautiful home, and garden, here in Banff, and she enjoyed weekends away with her family at the Toby Creek Cabin.

Sally was kind, gentle and caring and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family extends warm thanks to the medical teams at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Foothills Hospital and Banff Mineral Springs Hospital for the excellent care given to Sally.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated by the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Foothills Hospital and Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.
