It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of
Rose Louise Bignold (nee Schechtel) in Canmore.
Rose was born at Macklin, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm in Grosswerder, SK with her ten brothers and sisters. Leaving the prairies in her late teens, she headed to the Rocky Mountains on the train with her sister Mary, eventually settling in Banff. While working in Banff, she met her husband Bob and they were married in 1956. They lived in Banff for a few years and eventually moved to Canmore where they raised their five children. Mom will always be remembered for her delicious baking, cooking and her kind heart. She had an overwhelming love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her loving husband Robert "Bob" Bignold in 2007 as well as one brother and five sisters, Rose is survived by her five children, Myron (Winnie); Barry (Jackie); Russ (Shawn); Bonnie (Kent); Todd (Brandy) and her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Mass was Celebrated on Wednesday, November 6, 2013
