Reid Shellian

It is with great sadness we announce the passing, in Canmore, of Reid Evan Shellian, much loved son and brother. Reid was born on July 30, 1990 at the Canmore Hospital, living his 19 years in the beautiful mountain town.

Reid attended Canmore Collegiate High School and was enrolled at Mount Royal College for the coming fall semester. He was a competitive gymnast and coach, avid snowboarder and had a great love of the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, working at Nutters and walking his dog Bandit. Reid was a compassionate brother, loyal friend and loving son who lived life to the fullest.

Reid will be warmly remembered by his parents Denise and Ron Shellian, along with his two sisters Breanne and Colette. He will be missed by many extended family members. Reid is survived by his grandmother Alvera Hockley; his aunts and uncles Richard and Barb Shellian, Larry (Betty) Shellian, Gerry Shellian, Melody (Don) Whitrow, Lance (Bev) Hockley, Duncan (Sheilagh) Hockley, Dean (Deb) Hockley, Betty (Ed ) Kirby, Shirley Matheson; and 21 cousins. Reid was predeceased by his grandparents Oliver Hockley and Ludwig (Sophie) Shellian.

A Celebration of Reids Life was held Thursday, September 3, 2009 with interment following in the Canmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations, in Reids memory, to the Canmore SPCA, the Canmore Illusions Gymnastic Club or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
