Born Meggen, Lucerne, Switzerland, Died at home in Banff
Peter emigrated with his family as a boy and eventually settled in Banff. Peter's unconventional wisdom and vision brought him success as the founder of The Banff Book and Art Den, The Grizzly House and Narrows Village at Shuswap Lake.
Peter was a unique character who forged his own path in life and
was an inspiration to many. At Narrows Village, Peter spent much
of his time and energy fulfilling his personal dream of an off the grid Eco-resort for hedonists.
Peter's many facets included restaurateur, philosopher, artist,
architect, adventurer and leader.
Peter will be sorely missed by his lady Ellen Visser, daughters Brigitte
and Gabi and their families and by Barbara, the mother of his children. Peter's Grizzly House and Narrows Village families will also feel the loss of their founder and leader.
We will all miss seeing Peter holding court with his pipes and wineglass at the Grizzly House.
A wake will be held for family and friends at The Grizzly House in Banff on Sunday November 29 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
Friends wishing to remember Peter are encouraged to make a donation, in his memory, to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Calgary,
