On April 28, at 84, Peter Belfry McCaffrey, long term Banff resident, colourful Dad and Gramps, dedicated Rotarian, connoisseur of food and music, died of heart failure in Banff.
Peter is survived by daughters Janis, Edith (Hal McInerney) and Barbara Pelham (Eric Pelham), grandchildren Mac and Hale Dewar and Marika and JT Pelham, and his sister Wendy McEwan and dear friend, Annie Wesko. He was predeceased by his lovely bride, Marika. Their entrepreneurial spirit included founding Canada House Gallery in 1974.
He loved big ideas, political debate, obscure on-line news sources, world travel, single malt scotch, CKUA radio, hot sauces and an
ever-evolving collection of snazzy suspenders. His laughter could
fill a room and his sneezes shook walls. His big, boisterous presence will be missed.
The family wishes to thank the community of extraordinary staff at Mineral Springs Hospital, and Dr. Stephen Shegeishi for his exceptional counsel and care.
A gathering of friends and family was held on Wednesday,
August 23, 2017 at the Banff Park Lodge.
