Peter Doenz, 35 year plus resident of Canmore and the Bow Valley,
passed away in Calgary on Friday, September 22, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his beautiful wife of 42 years, Dolly; his sons Peter Jr. and Leo (Kim) of Calgary; daughter Maggie (Dale) of Ardmore; his loyal four-legged companion Jimmy; grandchildren Taylor (Alex), Ardina, DJ, Heidi and Clemens; great grandchildren Alexander and Kai; sisters Clementina and Bernhardina (Fred), nephew Fredi (Christina) great nephews Christof and Lukas and great niece Norina all of Jenins, Switzerland; the Ayoungman family of Siksika; his extended families in Siksika and Sarcee; his Swiss friends in Canmore,
as well as many other family members and friends.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Anna Katarina and Clemens, and nephews Jurg and Thomas of Switzerland, his brother Luzi (John) of Australia and his adoptive parents, Arthur and Nora Ayoungman of Siksika.
Peter was born in Jenins, Switzerland and immigrated to Canada at the age of 19. It was no surprise he settled in Canmore because he loved the mountains as they reminded him of home. For most of Peter's working career, he was a tow truck driver and long haul
truck driver. He loved hunting and was a member of the
Kananaskis Gun Club.
Peter will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege
of knowing him.
A memorial service took place on Wednesday, September 27
in St. Michael's Anglican Church, Canmore.
