Perry Shellian

With heavy hearts we said good bye to on old soul, a brother an uncle and a friend, Perry Andrew Shellian He passed peacefully after the Oilers game on June 11. Perry was born and raised in Canmore and lived in Calgary and Edmonton

Perry leaves behind his sister Sue (Gord) and brother Barry (Len), nieces Samantha (Larry), Natasha (Mike), nephew Kale and great nephews Gavin and Ty Macfarlane.

Perry was passionate about the Flames and knew all the stats. He was kind to everyone, chatted with people in line ups, at the mall or while on a walk. He talked to children who enjoyed his smile, laugh, his time and just seemed to understand. He didn't see his disability or those of others, just the person. No prejudice. He read labels as if the ingredients would change and asked what something was

He ate one french-fry at a time making lunches long but he enjoyed that. He always said please, thanks and asked how everyone was with a sincere concern. Sending cards on birthdays and special occasions were important and a tradition for years. Time was important, he didn't have too many places to go but he didn't like to be late. He was always amazed when he saw the sights of the city.

In lieu of flowers, find a passion; phone a friend to see how they are doing, remember please, thank you and I love you, Send a card to say so. Be aware of time, yours and others use it share it wisely. Say hi to a stranger, make a child laugh. Enjoy the sites of where you are at that moment, recycle, take a long lunchs and enjoy it.

A big thank you to the staff at Norwood, friends who listened, understood and cared and the staff and volunteers of the Palliative Care Society who make things easier.
