It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Charles Slavin on September 6, 2009 in Canmore. Pat was a well known and loved member of our community whose 16 years in the mountains were filled with golfing, hiking, skiing, volunteering, music, fun and friendship.
Pat recently celebrated his 80th birthday with his wife Hilda, his daughters Cathy Snair (Bob), and Val Thompson (Greg), sons Ken ( Jennifer), Ted (Chris), Peter (Karen) and Grant (Maiysha), and his ten grandchildren Lindsay, Grant, Corey, Ryan, Brianna, Hayley, Peter, Kaitlyn, Ben and Charlie. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his sister Norma, brother Bernie (Mary Lou) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat?s family would like to thank Reverend Bryan Frank and Deacon Brian West from Our Lady of the Rockies Parish, and Dr. Gerald Duggleby, Sarah and the rest of the staff at the Canmore Hospital for their care and compassion.
A service for Pat was held at Our Lady of the Rockies Parish, Canmore on Friday, September 11.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Junior Golf program at the Canmore Golf Club would be appreciated.
