Patricia Anholt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Elizabeth Anholt in Canmore, AB. She was born in Edmonton and grew up on a small farm near Namao where her passion for gardening was cultivated and she learned to cook great food with whatever was available. She married Lee Anholt in 1956. They were a military couple and were stationed in France, Halifax, Ottawa and Cold Lake until Lee's retirement back to civilian life in Edmonton in 1972. She cherished the opportunity for travel that the military provided and they continued to travel for many years.

Pat and Lee lived in Edmonton where she enjoyed her work as a realtor. In 2016 she relocated to Canmore, a town she had always adored. In all the places she lived, she made and valued many close friends with whom she shared bridge games, long walks, belly laughs, and glasses of wine. She was devoted to those she loved, the rest she tolerated – barely.

She was predeceased by Lee in 2013 and her sister Kae in 2017. She is survived by her children Brad Anholt, Brenda Marsh, Michele Anholt and Penny Lyons, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four siblings. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends but she no longer found the same joy in life and she is content once again.

The family would like to thank Diane Travers for all the friendship and support she has provided mom this past difficult year and Dr. Eeles for her compassionate care.

A celebration of life was held on Wednesday September 20 at the Mineshaft Tavern, 808 Spring Creek Drive in Canmore. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local food bank.
