Panos Koukouras was born in Krynofyta, Greece on November 8, 1935 and peacefully passed in Banff on Wednesday October 3, 2012 with his loving daughter and nephew at his side.
He leaves behind his daughter Katy; his nephew Tom Soukas and his family, Carolyn, Matthew, Yannis, and Tommy; his niece Joanna Karlos and her family, Stavros, Yannis, and Angela; his sisters Maria and Froso; and his brother John.
Panos moved from Greece as a young adult and spent some time in San Francisco, California before settling in Banff. He started Kirby's Lane Candies and was part owner of the original Balkan Restaurant. In more recent years, he spent his time with family, reading, playing golf, and skiing at Norquay.
He will be missed terribly.
