Michael Skrine

Michael Skrine, lifelong resident of Banff, passed away peacefully in the town he loved on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the age of 57 years. He is survived by his son Cody; Cody's mother Valerie; his brother Shawn (Cheryl) and two nieces Lisa and Sara.

Michael loved his mountain home and was a lifelong skier, competing nationally and working with his father Brian on world class races. Music was a large part of his life as well, originating from his mother Doreen, and Michael was often seen on stage with his bass guitar. Always up for an adventure, Mike enjoyed traveling and had made it to New Zealand, Australia, the beaches of Hawaii and Europe several times but he always returned to the mountains of his home, where he will now remain at peace.

There was a short informal service of remembrance at the Banff Park Lodge on Friday June 1, 2012, followed by a reception and celebration of Mike's life at the Banff Royal Canadian Legion.
