Merrick Sheridan

d. September 26, 2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Merrick Elizabeth Sheridan on Monday September 26, 2011. As she left this place, she was surrounded by the love of her family and close friends.

Merrick is survived by her mother Isabelle Ramsay, brother, Brett, sister, Alanah and father, John. She is also survived by her grandmother Ellen Ramsay as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Merrick was born in Canmore on November 11, 1978 and spent much of her life within the mountains that make our community such a spiritual place. Her passion for the arts was displayed early on and she created many wonderful pieces of beauty, whether it be with words, pencils or paint.

An excerpt from a poem she once created follows:

Yet, it's courage to own your own story

Given the chance to define it, refine it and love it

A simple symbol, a shape or a colour representing

The grace and beauty of the abundance of life

A celebration by enjoying the gift of life.

Isabelle, Brett and Alanah would like to thank all their family, friends and the community for the abundance of support through this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of Merrick's life, donations may be sent to Ralph Connor Memorial United Church, 617- Main Street,

Canmore T1W 2B1.

A Celebration of Merrick's Life was held on Monday, October 3, 2011 in Canmore.
