Maxine Brooks

d. January 20, 2019

Maxine Cecelia Brooks passed away peacefully at Canmore Hospital on January 20, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Maxine was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She married Harold Brooks in 1949, moving to Medicine Hat in 1952 where they raised a family of three children. Maxine was a devoted wife and mother, working short periods at Alberta Gas Chemicals in Medicine Hat as well as the Banff Center in the Bow Valley. She was very proud of completing her Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Calgary in the 1970s. Maxine and Harold moved to Canmore permanently in 1978, following Maxine's dream to live in the mountains. They met many friends through their passions of golf and bridge. She enjoyed and was quite accomplished at sewing and knitting before losing her eyesight. Despite this challenge, Maxine never missed a daily walk. She will always be remembered for her upbeat, happy, and positive nature.

Maxine was predeceased by her husband Harold; brother Doug and sister Charlotte. She is survived by her children Leah, Karen (Bill),

Rod (Chris), five grand children (Aquila, Orion, Jenny, Altair and Tara), one great grandson (Caelum), her sisters Lois and Blanche (Dave) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff & friends at the Bow River Lodge as well as Canmore Home Care for all the years of support
