Mary Elizabeth Kelly, born in Diamond City, Alberta and longtime resident of Exshaw, passed away peacefully in the evening hours of Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Canmore Hospital with her loving children by her side.
Predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" in 2001, Mary leaves to mourn her three sons, Robert (Marilyn) of Sundre, Dale (Janie) of Exshaw and Tim (Amanda) of Exshaw; two daughters, Bonnie (Rod) of Leduc and Sharon of Exshaw as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother William (Bill) and one sister Hazel Larson of Calgary. Mary was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Harry and Steve Buckle.
Mary loved her family, both those born to her and those she collected over the years. She enjoyed the daily phone calls and visits. She enjoyed holidays in the Okanagan where she and Bob had their retirement cottage. Mary had a quick wit and always enjoyed a lively conversation as well as some simple and quiet times like a good crossword puzzle or Coronation Street on Sunday mornings.
A Celebration of Mary's Life was held Thursday, December 2, 2010 in the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Canmore. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to thank the hospital staff at the Canmore General Hospital for their kind and tender care of their mother, with a special thanks to nurse Lorraine Vincent for her true compassion.
