Maria (Mimi) Louise Waterreus passed away peacefully in
Canmore, Alberta, with her children by her side.
As a young woman, Mimi worked at an airforce base in telecommunications in the Netherlands and met her love for life, Henk Waterreus. They married and sailed to Canada in 1957 and made their home in Whitehorse, Yukon where she became a dedicated and loving mother. With her love for children, Mimi began a career in education. In 1995 Mimi and Henk retired to Canmore, Alberta and enjoyed their role immensely as Grandparents.
Sadly, Mimi lost her husband Henk in 2013....but had a new purpose in life....a Great Grand daughter.
Mimi knew what was important in life. "Family and Love".
Mimi was predeceased by her husband Hendrikus Waterreus and is survived by her sister Evi, daughter Karin, daughter Monique (Pierre), son Marcus, son Stephen (Pascale), grand daughter Charlene (Riley), grandsons Jeremy and Benjamin, and great grand daughters
Madelyn and Lucy.
For what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from
its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
We'll love you forever!
Sincere thanks to Dr. John Michalyshyn and the Canmore Homecare
for helping us on our journey with our Mother, Grand mother
and Great Grandmother.
