Peacefully at St. Martha's Place, Banff Mineral Springs Hospital
in her 97th year.
Predeceased by her husband, Pipe Major John Wilson and elder son Ian. Margaret, devoted mother of Ewen; proud grandmother of Laurel, Malcolm and Reid; appreciative mother-in-law of Trudy
Margaret's passing marked the end of one branch of the Reid family whose members: James, Marjorie, Mary, Florence, Hazel, Joy and Jacqueline had predeceased her. Along with her one brother and many sisters, Margaret had been raised on Elm Grove Avenue
in the Parkdale district of Toronto.
During most of her married life, Margaret lived in Willowdale, where, along with her husband John, raised her two sons. Margaret's passion was for family and home life and in each she excelled. Her's was a home, Scottish in tone, in which there was always wonderful music, creative gardening, and nutritious food excellently prepared.
It was here that Margaret's heart was the happiest.
In 2013, with encouragement and love from her grandchildren, Margaret decided to sell the family home in Willowdale and move to Banff, AB
so that she could share her remaining years with them.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes, intermixed with those of her son Ian's will be interred in the Reid Family plot in Prospect Cemetery in the Spring of 2018.
Should you chose to do so, as an expression of sympathy, a donation, in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice, and especially to one promoting Scottish values.
