Margaret was the 6th of 8 children born April 3, 1917 in Leader, Saskatchewan. She was raised by the Sisters of Providence at the Lacombe Home in Midnapore, Alberta.
Margaret taught school in rural Alberta, sometimes getting paid with canned chicken. She married Harry Manning in 1947 and had six children. They lived in Nordegg where five of the six children were born. In 1954 they moved to Edmonton and Margaret continued her teaching career while raising her family.
Margaret loved nothing more than family get-togethers where she could spend time with her many grandchildren.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by children; Harry (Brenda), Rosemary, Louise (Glen) Crawford, Ed (Karen), Mike (Irene), Rob (JoAnn); grandchildren Danielle, Nicholas, Krista, Chandra, Jordan, Rosanna, Evan, Melany, Alexandria, Tristan, Tyrel, Kitty, Tucker and Ducati. Margaret will also be forever remembered by her great grandchildren, nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church in Canmore. Interment followed at Eden Brook Cemetery in Calgary where she was laid to rest with her husband Harry.
