Lloyd lived his whole life under the Three Sisters mountains in Canmore, where he worked in the coal mines both before and

after his service in the Canadian Army. When the mines closed in

Canmore Lloyd went to Lafarge where he worked until his retirement.

When Lloyd was 19 years old, he volunteered for the First Special Service Force also known as the "Black Devils" or "Devil's Brigade". In the later years, the force members were awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Cross, U.S. Congressional Gold Medal. Lloyd was an avid member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Three Sisters Branch, Canmore, where he served as President for a period of time. In 2015 Lloyd received his 70 year membership pin.

Marjorie and Lloyd were avid dart players and made a tremendous relationship within the Legion Dart Community travelling all across Canada in competitions. They also enjoyed participating in the

Senior Games.

Many a day our father spent fishing around Canmore on the river and lakes with family, relatives and friends. To be in the mountains was his place in life and loved to share it with everyone.

A very special thanks to the Dr. John Michalyshyn, Staff of the Acute Care, Staff of the Golden Eagle View Extended Care at the Canmore General Hospital, as well all the Home Care Nurses that came to the house to care for dad every day. All of these people gave exceptional care and made our Dad's last few days comfortable.
