Larry Robert Renshaw (Rally Lenshaw) passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Canmore General Hospital, Canmore, AB., at the age of 56 years, with Tanya Crouse and Shaun McQueen at his side.

Born in Carshalton, Surrey, England on September 8, 1955, Larry was a life long Ipswich Football Club and England supporter. Larry spent his early years in Suffolk, and considered East Anglia home. He spent 6 years at Bicknell Residential, Bournemouth, Dorset completing 5 O'Levels.

Larry worked for a brief time as a Chicken Eviscerator, before joining the Royal Air Force in 1972. During his Service career, Sergeant Renshaw served tours of duty in West Germany and the United Kingdom. He had been employed in a wide variety of demanding posts, all involved with personnel administration. His posts included work as a Personnel Documentation Clerk, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Management Services, ADP Operator at the RAF's Personnel Management Centre and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Personnel Documentation at a large flying station. At RAF Markham, he was in charge of 9 clerks responsible for the personal affairs of over 2000 Servicemen.

Heavily involved with sporting activities in the Service, becoming a Physical Training Instructor. Often taking an organisational role in Alpine Skiing, Water Skiing, Rugby, Football, Tennis & Squash. Member of RAF Alpine Ski Squad and Downhill Ski Instructor in Val D'Isere/Tignes, Megeve', Garmish PK, Austria, and Cairngorms. Larry was also involved in supporting Youth organisations such as the Prince of Wales' Trust, he had a passion for helping underprivileged kids. His last RAF posting was in Labrador, he retired after 25 years of service, in 1997. He received his Canadian citizenship in 2003

Larry enjoyed art, history, and learning. Playing musical instruments and listening to a wide variety of music, he enjoyed acting, cinema, photography, technology, languages, food, humour and meeting people. He travelled much of the world, saw amazing places like the pyramids, Ascention and Easter Islands. He had a degree in Fitness & Nutrition and a was a Colloquial German Linguist. He was a PADI Scuba Dive Instructor in Belize in 2005.

Larry desired to see the Canadian Rockies, and decided to stay. He began employment with Stumboech as a ski guide, and soon settled into Canmore. Larry worked with a variety of destination management companies, and became one of the most knowledgeable and entertaining tour guides in the Bow Valley. Involved in many activities in Canmore, but probably most known for being a youth football coach, for the past 15 years. He became a carpenter and a woodsman, after moving to an acreage in West Creston, BC, in 2007. Always carrying his passion for nature, sport, and helping others.

Larry had many good friends, and strong bonds to Canmore. At the end of his life, Canmore was his home.

Larry leaves behind his partner of 6 1/2 years, Tanya Crouse and pet Monty Python of West Creston, BC, and his family who resides in UK. His mother Jeune Jacqueline Gordon (nee Dollerson); sister Diane Spink and family; half sister Elisabeth Oliver and family, all of Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Half brother Andrew Gordon and family of Derby, Derbyshire; father Robert Johnson Renshaw & wife Joyce of Halsted, Essex; half brother Mark Renshaw of Colchester, Essex; half sister Julia & family of Essex.

Larry's FUNeral was held at Zona's Bistro on Tuesday, July 17.
