In loving memory of Kurt Dwight McMahon, a gentle and considerate soul, peacefully passed away on June 20, 2024. His fearless spirit, humble presence, boundless knowledge and dry, witty charm endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Kurt's adventurous nature led him to explore the world with an insatiable curiosity, always seeking out new challenges and experiences that enriched his life and inspired those around him.
Kurt was born in Hinton, Alberta, and grew up in Forestburg, Alberta. There, he excelled academically, leading him to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. He dedicated many years to his craft, years that set him apart in his field. Kurt's innovative approach to problem-solving and his commitment to excellence earned him respect and approval from colleagues and peers alike. For the last 20 years, the beauty of the mountains in Canmore brought him peace and delight in his everyday life and fueled that enthusiasm for discovery.
He was predeceased by his brother Kim and will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his parents Jerry and Bonnie, his partner, Jodie, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and dear friends. Though Kurt's physical presence may be gone, his legacy of brilliance, humility, and adventure will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him a loved one or a friend. Kurt's lasting mark on the world will be cherished and remembered by many.
The family wishes to thank all the amazing staff at the Canmore Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Kurt's memory, to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canmore Hospital Foundation
