Kathleen Belenky

Kathleen Belenky went to be with our Lord at home in Canmore on August 22, 2009 surrounded by her family. She was 72 years old when cancer claimed her life.

Kathleen is survived by her three daughters Kaida Elston (Dave), Betty Belenky (Roy Mathis) and Kristina Kew (Bill & Seyka) and her 2 granddaughters, Melissa Archbold (David) and Nicole Conkleton (Jesse Montpellier). Kathleen was also blessed with 5 great grandchildren (Brendan, Micah, Aiden, Zoe, and Noah). She is also survived by her two loving sisters, Betty Manzara and Lorna Mjolness (Barry) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was also loved by her extended family in Christ who were devoted to her.

Kathleens husband- Bill Belenky, her parents- John and Pauline Cavanaugh, her sister and sister-in-law- Pauline and Bonnie and her brother- Jim were all waiting in heaven to welcome her.

Kathleen was born in Canmore, AB on May 15, 1937 where she was raised during the War. She married Bill in 1956 and the family moved to Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary while their girls grew up. She loved to go camping and had many wonderful adventures with her family. Kathleen loved Mexico and went on more trips than she could count. About the same time Kathleen lost Bill, she fell in love again this time with our Lord. She had an inspirational and personal relationship with God that gave her great joy. Her wit, wisdom, generosity and hospitality were renowned and will be forever missed.

A celebration of Kathleens life was held Wednesday, August 26, 2009.
