Kaspar Joseph Schmalz passed away peacefully at St. Martha's Place, Mineral Springs Hospital in Banff on January 20, 2017 with his wife Betty at his side.
Predeceased by his parents, sister Mary, brothers John, Tony and Leo, Kaspar is survived by his wife Betty and her brother Alan, sister Sheila and family as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Rose in Regina and Alice in Ontario.
Born on November 5, 1925, on a farm at Frances, Saskatchewan he later moved to Alberta and worked for Parks Canada in Banff before opening his own business and worked as a watchmaker until he retired.
Kaspar enjoyed golf, curling, snooker and time keeping for hockey.
Cremation has taken place and a family service and burial will be at a later date in Saskatchewan in the family plot where he will be buried with his beloved wife Betty who passed away April 22, 2017.
