Our feisty and beloved Joyce, passed away ......

Predeceased by her parents, Jasper pioneers, "Pete" Pierre Noullet and "Stevie" Ida Stevenson and her real honey, " Ken" Kenneth William Lucas. Joyce leaves behind her dearest sister '" BA'" Betty Anne Cates, three special nephews, Mike, Doug and Peter, her resourceful son Barry Ferguson, his creative wife, Hasmi, and adored grandson, Conner, closest companion and caring daughter Lynne Ferguson, compassionate birth daughter Nicole Clement and warm hearted granddaughter Rachelle Topham and talented grandson Matthew Topham.

With a zest for life, candour and laughter, athletic Joyce, born a child of the parks and growing up in Jasper, loved the mountains, skiing, skating on the lakes, swimming, kayaking, BBQs at Lucerne and her many wonderful lifelong friends and family. She attended the University of Alberta where she became a physiotherapist. Through Joyce's entrepreneurial spirit, energy and tenacity, in Jasper she established the successful Quarks and Fribbles, became a key Member of the Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Library Committee and Campaign manager for MLA Bob Dowling. Marriage to both her best friend and love Ken was full of joy - golfing, travelling, whether exploring the South Pacific or meandering with a trailer, enjoying the sunset with a scotch and cigarette. Joyce and Ken created a new home in Cochrane where this amazing gardener nurtured a marvellous flowering garden. Later, Lynne and Joyce shared so many of her passions in life ... trips to Bali and Thailand, gardening, crafts shows, Siamese cats,... Joyce will always be loved by each of us forever.

A Celebration of Joyce's life took place at the Old Chalet

at Maligne Lake on Saturday, June 29, 2013.
