James Malcolm Ross Lewis flew through heaven's doors on
March 29th, 2014. He is survived by his three children who were his pride and joy, Sorrel (23), Wyatt (16), Blaze (14) and their mother, Gail, all from Canmore. Also survived by his mother, Bernice (Headingley, MB), his sister, Darlene (Winnipeg) and his brother, Calvin (Calgary). He was predeceased by his father, Jack (1999). He will be enormously missed by many friends and extended family.
Jim started his life long career in Chatham, Ontario when a friend asked him to come and learn all about steel studding, T-bar, drywall and layouts. His love of the trade came naturally. He became an expert in his field of work, a mentor to many and loved it even more when there was a challenge involved.
Jim continued to move westward until he ended up in Canmore, Alberta. His love of the small mountain town made him settle down, start a family and build a new home.
In 2000 Jim accepted a job position and headed to Bermuda. He loved the ocean, beaches, palm trees and especially the island warmth. He travelled for work between Bermuda and Alberta for several years.
He was a lover of Harley Davidsons, his first one being a fancy chopper. In his early twenties he rode his next Harley all the way to California
and back.
He loved the outdoors especially fishing at Lake Minnewanka and camping at Two Jack Lake.
A special thanks to Dr. Catharine Hinds for her compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place.
A 'Celebration of Life' was held, Friday, April 4th, 2014 at the Canmore Legion. A Memorial BBQ will tentatively take place, at his brother, Calvin's, this summer.
