Jerry Chakowski

Jerry Andrew Chakowski passed away unexpectedly Friday evening in Canmore. Jerry is survived by mother Jenny, brother Stanley (Mary) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nephews. He was predeceased by father Andrew and sister Andrea.

Jerry, along with his whole family, was born and raised in Canmore. His love for animals and nature was his life's passion. He was a very kind and gentle soul and although he never had a lot to give, he would have given it to anyone freely if they were in need.

For the past several years he had the privilege of working with his second family at Spring Creek. We will be forever grateful to Frank Kernick and all the staff there.

There was a gathering with the Spring Creek family for a "Happy Hour" celebration on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Drake.

Everyone was invited to come and join.

To respect Jerry's wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service, but as many members of the community have mentioned, sharing a drink and a memory would give him the most pleasure.

Friends are encouraged to make a donation, in Jerry's memory,

in lieu of flowers, to the Bow Valley SPCA.
