Jenny Ram

Janette (Jenny) Hendrika Ram, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully in the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jenny was born June 11, 1929 in Holland. She married Adrianus (Addie) Ram on June 20, 1951 and immigrated to Canada living in Montreal for a short time, then eventually settling in Banff, Alberta. Jenny missed her beloved Holland and returned often to visit her family and friends, but always returned to her home in the Rocky Mountains – Banff.

Jenny worked in local hotels, employed while learning English – managing the Phil's Pancake House Restaurant for many years – then working for Parks Canada before her retirement.

Jenny participated in many activities and formed many lifelong friends, some who have predeceased her and many who will miss her kindness and loving heart.

Jenny is survived by her family; her husband for 59 years Adrianus (Addie); her son Eddie (Colleen); her granddaughter Kaylee; her sister in law Suzie (Guy); nephews Marc, Philip and Alain; nieces Natalie, Vivianne, Rykje (Bob) & Andrea (Ryan); cousin Christa (Evelyn & Margaret) and close friends Ton (Mazell) and many, many more wonderful friends. Jenny was predeceased by her mother and father and 3 brothers in Holland.

A Memorial service was held Wednesday December 1, 2010 at the Rundle Memorial United Church in Banff
