Jean Curry

It is with much sadness of heart that we share the passing

of Ethel Jean Curry (nee Bibby), born in Edmonton, AB.

and died peacefully in the Canmore General Hospital.

Blessed with her memory are her daughter Linda (Brian) Kuntz of Medicine Hat, son Dennis (Cheryl) of Calgary, son Douglas of Canmore and son-in-law Michael Brumlik of Texas. Grandchildren Katanya Kuntz (Ben Davies), Ryan Curry and Jay Curry. She is also survived by her sister Peg (Ken) Blake and was predeceased by her husband J. Ross Curry and daughter Michelle Curry-Brumlik.

Jean graduated in 1951 from University of Alberta with a nursing degree, and later earned a degree in public health. She worked as a public health nurse for the Calgary Health Services from 1972-1991. She was always well respected for her nursing knowledge, and had a caring, non-judgmental heart.

She had an exciting life moving all around the world with her husband and four children. She loved to travel, and meet new people, while maintaining strong family ties. She founded the Red Hat Society Canmore chapter, and was involved in the local artist community.

She had the eye of an artist, and began painting oil landscapes in Europe, then transitioned to watercolours of the Rocky Mountains.

Jean always greeted you with a hug and a kiss, "how are you doing?" and made each day feel that much more special. She will always be in our hearts.

at the Canmore Hospital, Community Care and Acute care, especially Dr. Michael Quinlan for his compassionate care and dedication.

Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Ralph Connor Memorial United Church, Canmore.
