Jean Cords

Jean Elizabeth Cords passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Health Center in Calgary on September 14, 2017 at the age of 85.

Predeceased by her husband Ronnie in 2001, and two brothers Bob and John McLerie. Jean is survived by her children Keith Cords , Kim Bond, Kara (John) Borsa, Krista Cords (Ryan), and her grandchildren Ashley & Corey Bond (Jodie), Kristine Borsa, and Sophia & Julian Williams.

Jean is also survived by her brother Jim (Carolyn) McLerie and two sisters, Mary-Lou (Don) Szmon and Sandra (Larry) Knott.

In the early 1950's, Jean and Ronnie settled in Exshaw and set out to work hard and raise a family. Jean had many jobs but one of her favorites was at William Watson Lodge in Kananaskis. Jean always took great care of her family and friends and spent countless hours in her garden. She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain guests. She enjoyed traveling and saw many parts of the world. She was creative and used her creativity to build a beautiful life. Most notably, Jean was fearless, strong, generous, and loyal.

Funeral Services for Jean were held Saturday, September 30 in the Ralph Connor Memorial United Church on Main Street in Canmore. Following the church service, she was laid to rest with Ronnie

in the Canmore Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff especially the third floor staff at St. Marguerite Manor in Calgary for the loving care and attention given to Jean during her stay there.
