Irene Buchheim

With great sadness we announce the passing of Irene on

July 10, 2017 after a sudden illness.

Irene was born in Gourock, Scotland where she grew up with her brother Ronald. At a young age she longed to see the world

and saved up money to travel to Canada in 1957. After working for

a year in Toronto, she again saved enough money to move to Vancouver where she eventually met and fell in love with her

future husband Guenther Buchheim.

Irene and Guenther spent most of their lives Vancouver enjoying

their passion for skiing and playing tennis. Eventually they moved

to Kelowna, BC and continued to enjoy their active lifestyle.

In her last years Irene chose to move closer to her daughter in Canmore where she spent her final days.

Irene is survived by her children Heidi (Patrick) Fricker, Martin Buchheim and her grandchildren Alex and Luke Fricker. She is predeceased by her husband Guenther Buchheim and her brother Ronald Cadenhead.
