Idabel was born in Moose Jaw, Sk. to William King and Lola King

(nee Grose). She finished high school in Newdale, Manitoba, and attended Winnipeg Business College where she learned secretarial

Idabel and John worked together to operate EB Chick Agency

They were avid curlers in wintertime and enjoyed camping and our family cabin in the summers.

Idabel moved to Banff in 2007, living with her daughter and at Cascade House. She was active in the Seniors Drop-In Center, and spoke with great enjoyment of her time and good friends there, visiting over tea. She was fond of reading and puzzles, often with a word puzzle book

at hand or a large puzzle spread out on a card table.
