It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that
Ian Hamilton Hutchins passed, peacefully, at his home in Banff.
Ian was born and raised in Banff, with his earliest summers spent enjoying adventures with extended family at Castle Mountain Bungalows. During his school years he made many good friends
who continued to stay in touch throughout his life.
Ian worked for Parks Canada for eleven years. When complications from Diabetes made work no longer possible, Ian bravely met the
many, ever-increasing health challenges of his life with determination and humour. Football season was a highlight and Ian was a big
San Francisco 49ers fan.
Ian is survived by his sister Laurel and her partner Dan Harris with whom he lived and laughed for so many years and who made it possible for him to remain at home in the town he loved even during the most difficult times. He will always be fondly remembered by nephews Ben (Gwen) and Wil, niece Leanna (Ryan) and sister-in-law Toots. He also has three great nephews Theo, Isaac and Logan. Ian is predeceased
by parents Jim and Jeanne Hutchins and brother Ted.
As per his wishes, no service will be held.
Services provided by Russ Reynolds and Bow River Funeral Service.
