Hildegard Amann

Born in Moosdorf and raised in Hoexter Germany, Hildegard immigrated to Canada in 1952 where she worked as an accountant. Always an avid outdoor enthusiast, she met her loving husband Eduard while skiing at Sunshine Village in 1960. They were married in 1962.

Together, Ed and Hildegard pursued a life long joy for exploring the mountains. With their children Michael and Therese in tow, they would often be found hiking or skiing in the Rockies. They so loved the mountains that they moved to Canmore in 1989 where Hildegard not only continued exploring the mountains, but also enjoyed her passion for gardening. Her beautiful mountain gardens provided much joy for her and the family.

Hildegard's love of the outdoors, gardening and most of all, time spent with family has become central to who we are as a family. She will be deeply missed. Her kindness, energy and zest for life made an impression on all those who met her.

Hildegard is survived by her husband Eduard, children Michael (wife Lynn) and Therese (husband Chris) and the grandchildren who brought her so much joy; Monika, Alex and Morgan.

A family Celebration of Life has been held.

Those who wish to make a donation in Hildegard's memory may do so to SOS Children's Villages. Hildegard wanted every child to be able to grow up in a loving home.
