Helen Ness

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Helen Bernice Ness, at the age of 89 years. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba she ventured out west (Jasper) as a teenager where she later met her husband, Gunnar. They settled in the Bow Valley where she resided for 66 years.

Helen is survived by her children: Gary (Flo), Linda (Abe), Judy (Val) and Colleen (Bruce); eleven grandchildren: Jason (Jessica), Todd (Christina), Sasha, Aaron, Aimee (Chris), Jovena, Elliot, John (Erin), Sarah (Pat), Leilani (Dom) and Alina; and eight great grandchildren: Hayley, Brynn, Rowan, Chael, Leo, Benjamin, Isaac and Broderick. She is also survived by her Aunt Bernice, nieces Lorraine, Pat and Chris; and numerous great-nieces/nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Gunnar and siblings Frances and Ed.

We will always remember her heart-warming ways, generosity and entertaining stories. Her sense of humour and outgoing personality shone through until the end.

Funeral Service for Helen was held on Friday, October 24, 2014

at Ralph Connor Memorial United Church, Canmore.

Interment followed in Canmore Cemetery.
