Heidi was born in Immenstadt, Germany and passed away peacefully
at her home in Banff.
Before settling down in Banff in 1968, Heidi enjoyed travelling extensively around the world. She was known as an athletic junky and daredevil in her earlier years, playing every sport imaginable. While calling Banff home and working at the Banff Springs Hotel, her soon to be husband Lothar joined Heidi in their Canadian adventure and they eventually married in Banff in 1969. She worked as a seamstress for over 30 years to many local businesses in Banff
Heidi is survived by her husband Lothar and their three children; Barbara, Marion (David) and Gregor (Kelsey) one granddaughter Nadiya as well as her three brothers Richard, German and Adolf Altenried and their families and friends who all still reside in Germany and Switzerland.
She was preceded by her mother Theresa in November 1993 and her father Peter in 1939.
Heidi had a amazing sense of humor; to those who knew her would readily agree. She was well known to many and will be dearly missed.
Heidi loved the sun. Wherever she is now, the sun will shine forever!!
A loving wife, mother (Mutti)
