Guy Faucon, long-time resident of the Bow Valley, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Canmore, after reaching
the age of 91 years old.
Born and raised in France, Guy immigrated to Canada in 1953.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, he settled in the Bow Valley in the late 1950's to live his passion for the mountains. He then built his house
in Harvie Heights and lived there until 2015, when he moved to
Origin at Spring Creek in Canmore to receive the assisted living
care he needed.
As a contractor during his active life, Guy operated Falcon
Construction in Banff for many years before retiring in 1993.
He was known for being an excellent finishing carpenter and
did numerous remodelling projects for offices and stores in
the Banff area.
Besides being an avid hiker, mountaineer and skier, Guy loved travelling and discovering new places. His countless journeys across Western Canada, Mexico, Peru and other places abroad, are recalled through the amazing collection of photos he took of landscapes and people he encountered along the way.
Guy enjoyed sharing his passion for adventure with others.
He touched the lives of many people with his kindness, friendship,
and willingness to help others.
He will be deeply missed by his long-time life partner Jill Nokes,
his close friends of Harvie Heights and Canmore, and his relatives
in France.
Jill wishes to thank the nursing staff of Morning Star at Origin for the attentive care they provided to Guy.
As per Guy's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
