Greg Pickrem

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gregory "Greg" Scott Pickrem. After a courageous struggle with cancer, Greg passed over the Great Divide at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital. He was surrounded by his family who travelled from Nova Scotia to be with him over the course of his illness.

Greg was born in Halifax, NS and ventured west at the age of 23. Alberta gained a place in his heart and quickly became home. He was employed at Brewster Transportation for over forty years.

He began his career driving a bus in Rimby, moved on to become

one of the Sunshine Skinners and eventually settled in as the Dispatcher at Brewster. In his younger days Greg loved setting up his telescope on the Flats and gazing at the stars. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with longtime friends especially pheasant hunting in Patricia.

He had many friends and always enjoyed a regular stop at the Voyager on the way home.

Greg will be sadly missed by his mother, Mary (Mamie) Pickrem, sister, Debbie Joyce, brother, Clifford Pickrem (Monica McKenzie), nephew, Patrick Joyce (Abby Cameron) and nieces, Pamela Pickrem (Donald Kaizer) and Danielle Pickrem and great nephew and great niece Landon and Katelyn Parsons. Greg was predeceased by his father, Roy Pickrem and brother-in-law, Bruce Joyce.

The family would like to express their thanks for the support and

kind acts by friends, colleagues, and medical personnel. The many visits, cards, phone calls, and gifts will always be remembered.

At Greg's request, there will be no service or celebration of life. Cremation has taken place and he will be buried with his father

in Halifax at a later date.
