Gordo was one of a rare breed, a second generation Albertan. Born in Drumheller on September 2, 1948, he briefly strayed to British Columbia to be a salmon fisher. Back in Alberta, he was drawn to Canmore in 1991 and stayed.
Gordo was a master of bridge, a skillful carpenter, a trophied pool player and a duck racer extraordinaire. Gordo died in the Canmore hospital on January 12, 2012 of complications from ALS.
He is missed dearly by his brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Carol Brown of Edmonton, his sister and brother-in-law, Sandy Brown and Allan Levinsohn of Gibsons BC, and his many friends, bridge and pool buddies.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date
