Gloria Jaggi

With sincere sorrow, we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother at the age of

62 years at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, AB.

Gloria was born to Virgil and Margaret Smith (nee Pickard) in Portage la Prairie, MB. and lived her early years on the family farm in Poplar Point, MB (1952-1968) where she first exhibited her love for animals and highland dancing. She moved with her parents to Stony Mountain, MB in her high school years (1968-1970) where she met her first husband Robert Sinclair. Gloria and Rob welcomed their daughter, Amanda Faye Sinclair in May 1975.

Gloria met Albert Jaggi in 1977 at a Stony Mountain community dance and continued to be active members in this community. They married in Stony Mountain, MB in July 1988. Al and his two daughters, Michele and Vanessa joined Gloria and Mandy as a family.

Gloria, Al and Mandy moved to Canmore, AB in 1989. This enabled Al to follow his passion for mountaineering and brought Gloria closer to her sister Janice (nee Smith) and nephews Jeff and Ian Stoesz in Calgary.

Gloria was devoted and dedicated to their daughters and family, especially her father and mother. Gloria lovingly cared for her mother in Canmore. She was a tremendous hostess who enjoyed entertaining friends, playing games, curling, all genres of music, dancing and a passion for golf. Gloria cherished her friendships and family.

Family and friends respected her in all aspects of her life. She excelled as a Samaritan, always assisting anyone in need. After passing, Gloria donated her organs for the benefit of others. Gloria was a long-time and respected employee with CIBC for 37 years and after her retirement she became an entrepreneurial business person owning her own company, Let it Glo Cleaning. She also pursued her passion for jewelry – she was all about the BLING !!

Gloria is survived by her husband Albert, daughter Amanda, son-in-law Darin and granddaughter Jordyn; stepdaughter Michele, son-in-law Kevin and granddaughters, Brynne and Ava; and stepdaughter, Vanessa and partner, Janal. She is survived by her sister, Janice and her nephews Jeff and Ian.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the genuine and quality care she received from the Emergency staff at Canmore Hospital and Foothills Medical Centre.

A celebration of her life took place on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in St. Michael's Anglican Church Hall, Canmore, AB.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to remember Gloria, may make a donation in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.com) or, remembering Gloria's love of animals, to a charity of the donor's choice to support the love of animals.
