Passed away surrounded by love, on August 2, 2009, at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Glen was a resident of Canmore Alberta for 34 years. He was born in Innisifail, Alberta on September 12, 1953. He was predeceased by his father, James Sinclair Craig, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Jane Grant and step father Edward Silver. Survived by his mother Rosemary Silver, brothers Gordon (Marla), Ken (Sandra), Dale (Lynn), and sister Lynn. Glen married the love of his life, Laura Collins on December 13, 1974. Together they had five wonderful children, Jessie (Tim), Aurora, Jayda, Dale and Jacob, and two amazing grandchildren Ethan and Sean Jacobs. He loved his 28 nieces and nephews, and always welcomed them into his home.
Glen owned and operated Craigs Way Station, with his business partners and younger brothers Ken and Dale for the past 26 years. He loved serving his community but perhaps no more than the years he served Canmore as a Councilor and then as Mayor. Glens sense of humor and dry wit knew no bounds. He always saw the positive and the possibility of a joke in all situations.
Glens primary passion was his family and best friend Laura, their children, partners and their grandchildren. He knew how live life to the fullest, so evident in these last few months. He organized a memorable family trip to California, a place he loved. His love of people knew no bounds a friend in need to him was surely a friend indeed.
A celebration of Glens life has take place on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Radisson Hotel in Canmore. Glens family would like to thank Dr. Michalyshyn in Canmore and the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Unit 47 for their care and compassion.
