Geraldine "Juggy" Angela Purcell passed away suddenly at home in Banff on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the age of 67.
Geraldine was born in Pincher Creek, Alberta, and she spent most of her childhood years in Canmore. She subsequently moved to Banff where she raised her two children and became a prominent figure in the hospitality/tourism industry. Her charity work at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church for approximately 10 years was truly appreciated throughout the community. Her selfless and caring personality and the ability to love everyone without judgement was what made Geraldine a one of a kind person. She had a positive attitude, genuine smile, and contagious laugh. She had a great passion and connection with dogs and had many throughout her life.
Geraldine is survived by her loving partner, Pierre Marquis,
her daughter Cindy Purcell, her son Stephen (Kelly) Purcell,
her siblings Sharon Salekin, Neana Walker, Gary Salekin,
Kim Salekin, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Violet Salekin,
her sister Linda Salekin and her brother Alex Salekin.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Shigeishi
for his continuous care.
A celebration of her life was hosted by the family on
Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the YWCA Great Room,
Banff, Alberta.
