Gail Kuzminski

d. November 6, 2011

Madelyne Gail Kuzminski (nee Moreton) slipped away peacefully to be with the Lord on Nov. 06, 2011 at 01:50 in the morning surrounded by family members and dear friends. Gail so longed to be with her family and friends but the trials of cancer proved too much for her.

Gail is survived by her husband Bob Kuzminski, and her adopted daughter and granddaughter. She was pre-deceased by her father John Harry Moreton in January 1945 and mother Shirley Francis Griffin in March 1963.

Gail came to Canmore in 1974 from London, Ontario, where she was born. She was on her way to Vancouver when Canmore captured and held her as it has many. It was in Canmore that she met Bob and decided this was the place she wished to reside.

Gail was a loving and gracious lady who many times in her life placed others before self and was embraced by many friends for her humor, generosity, and love and caring. Gail had a keen sense of right and many times helped guide her close friends through life's trials. She made her home an open and caring place. While in hospital during her last days her close friends kept vigil over her for many hours. She loved and was/is loved greatly in return.

Gail worked in a number of locations in Banff and Canmore but she was especially fond of the colleagues she worked with and the people she served.

Gail loved to read, visit with friends, do puzzles and hike in the beautiful area she made home.

A celebration of Gail's life was held at St. Michael's Anglican Church in Canmore on Friday November 25.

In honour of Gail's casual nature and the fact the she was always hoping she and friends could wear blue jeans during the dance portion of gatherings and celebrations we ask those attending her memorial to dress casually and, if you have them, please wear blue jeans.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, well wishers consider making a donation in Gail's name to the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation – Palliative Care Program, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore, AB T1W 1N2.

Services provided by Russ Reynolds and Bow River Funeral Service.
